Stars and stripes

I sighted an American flag shortly after going through customs in Detroit. At other times, I'm sure I've walked past the flag without even noticing it. But I stood there looking at it for a time, thinking of the nation it stands for and of which I am fortunate to be part.

Hi Roz,
I love our flag and what it stands for. Since becoming a Citizen I have had our flag flying in my front yard day and night.
Love,
Dennis

Back in the 1960's, many of us did not recognize the importance of our flag. Even then, the right wing had begun using it as an emblem of their particular views. Today, Joe and I find it important to fly the flag. Like the Bible, it is something to precious to be defined and usurped by the bigots.
