Children’s Day
Monday was Children’s Day, a time when children receive
presents and get to put on talent shows, rather like junior beauty pageants.
I’m made uneasy by such exhibitions of juvenile talent and worry that the adults
may push the kids too hard. Some of the
kids sang and danced really well, and most appeared to be enjoying themselves.I was a professor of curriculum and instruction at East Tennessee State University and am now in emeritus status. Currently, I teach English composition part-time at George Mason University. I have taught in Cincinnati, Turkey, China and the Czech Republic.

Must be a social phenomena in many countries (to push children to the brink). Let's hope they can think beyond...(Eckhart Tolle for the soul)!
Hi Roz! I finally got around to reading your blog. I am glad your class worked out. How I wish I could come! I will have to get funding to make such a trip or be paid to teach there. It looks like you are having a great time.
Nice post!!!!!!!!When travelling Probably better not to go alone, but if you do, try to get a guide, at least. Don't think the country is that dangerous but you might get lost instead! If you don't know Chinese you could have a hard time by yourself. Thanks:)
